The Fula Project – Gambia Missions Conference Recap!

Thank you for your prayers for the Gambia trip and missions conference!  Aren’t we privileged, in the light of such devastation in the news, to be involved in bringing people from darkness to light?  Thank God for enabling us to be His co-laborers.

We were believing for great things in Gambia but the Lord provided special surprises.  Alieu Bayo and a committee of Gambian church leaders laid the groundwork and hosted the conference.  LWM missionaries, Hermenia CarrollMoses FoyahJoseph KoomsonEdet and Ann Offong, and Greg and Suzanne Winslow ministered the heart of the Father.  Jean-Claude Noah did a great job of coordinating.

The hallmark the team shared with me was the purity of the ministry.  All focus was on the harvest of unreached people groups, identifying these people groups, and committing to reaching them.

The “Finishing the Task Missions Conference” was our first endeavor at co-hosting such a conference in Gambia.  The messages, all directed at reaching unreached people groups in the Senegambia Region, were well received.

ff7dce56-4fc7-4728-9e1b-9168905f3b0cJean-Claude distributed The Believer’s Authority books in the Fula language.  (Thanks to Kenneth Hagin Ministries for permission to translate and print the book.  Translations are currently in progress in the Mandinka and Wolof languages.  Praise the Lord!)

Workshops on children’s and youth ministry, business for missions, and making the Gospel culturally relevant were well attended.  Doors opened as a result of the children’s and youth ministry workshop for networking with two other major ministries.  Elisabeth Tatro was invited to share at a Samaritan’s Purse event just before departing Gambia.

The team also squeezed in a visit to a Fula family recently converted through the ministry of one church planter.  Harmonicas for the children were a big hit!

There was a consensus that we need to meet again next year to evaluate the progress.  We are seeking the Lord’s direction for next steps.  Teamwork made this conference and the outreaches possible.  Thank you for your part…praying, giving, and believing with us.
